Murrieta Water Shutdown - May 24, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To provide you with the reliable service and water quality that you have come to expect, Western will be shutting down water service to a portion of our customers on Thoroughbred Lane and Lennox Lane in Murrieta on Wednesday, May 24, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will notify customers by placing an informational door hanger in the next few days at each residence affected. Both indoor and outdoor water will be turned off.

During this time, our crews will perform routine maintenance on pipes in this area and, if needed, remove any sediments from the pipes, which can potentially cause discolored water coming out of your faucets.

If sediments are found and need to be removed, a Vactor truck will be on hand during the shutdown to quickly remove the sediments.
Our team at Western is committed to providing you – our customer – with a highly reliable water supply, which meets or exceeds all state and federal water quality tests. And, we thank you for your understanding and patience during this short-term shutdown.
Please contact Albert Magallon, water quality supervisor, at 951-789-5100 if you have questions on this project.

2011 Hazard Mitigation

Western Municipal Water District is in the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires that all public agencies have a plan to mitigate natural and man-made hazard impacts on its daily operations. The term "Hazard Mitigation" describes actions that can help reduce or eliminate long-term risks caused by natural hazards, or disaster, such as floods, wildfires, high winds and earthquakes as well as man-made events such as power outages, civil unrest, nuclear meltdown or even a pandemic illness in the region. If you would like to learn more about Western’s Hazard Mitigation Plan, or have comments, please contact Administrative Services at 951.571.7100.
