Murrieta Pipeline Maintenance - July 9 through August 23-24
Western Municipal Water District (Western) will be performing specialized pipeline maintenance throughout the Murrieta community in July and August. There are no planned disruptions to your water service during this project. Western’s crews and contractor will be working the following dates and times:
- Monday, July 9 through Friday, July 13 from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Night work will take place in commercial business areas to avoid business interruptions
near Madison Avenue (between Kalmia Street and Guava Street).
- Monday through Friday, July 16 through August 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- There may also be occasional work on select Saturdays.
- Due to additional equipment maintenance, completion of the project has been pushed to Aug. 23-24.
We do not anticipate traffic disruptions during the project. Electronic message boards and other signage will indicate when crews will be in your neighborhood. If you live near the commercial business areas where night work is taking place, you may see work lights or hear the sounds of general construction equipment. We are working closely with the contractor to minimize as much disruption as possible.

2011 Hazard Mitigation
Western Municipal Water District is in the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires that all public agencies have a plan to mitigate natural and man-made hazard impacts on its daily operations. The term "Hazard Mitigation" describes actions that can help reduce or eliminate long-term risks caused by natural hazards, or disaster, such as floods, wildfires, high winds and earthquakes as well as man-made events such as power outages, civil unrest, nuclear meltdown or even a pandemic illness in the region.
